“Wolfs” (2024)

I guess this is the year of “Ocean’s 11” reunions that no one asked for.

First, the lackluster reunion of Matt Damon and Casey Affleck in “The Instigators,” now George Clooney and Brad Pitt in “Wolfs.” I would much rather have “Ocean’s 14” than these two movies.

“Wolfs” is only marginally better than “The Instigators.” This is in large part because it reminds me of the “Ocean’s” movies and some of the other films the two stars have done separately, including “Out of Sight” and “Burn After Reading.”

Unfortunately, “Wolfs” is nowhere near as good as those films.

Clooney and Pitt play fixers who somehow get assigned to clean up the body of a young man who overdosed while in a penthouse with the district attorney (Amy Ryan).

They are both lone wolves, as the title suggests, but through these circumstances, they are forced to work together and navigate all the twists and turns this long night throws at them.

Most of the twists and turns are predictable, and some of them even appear in the trailer.

Clooney and Pitt have proven time and again that they have great chemistry, and that is pretty much the only thing that makes “Wolfs” watchable.
