Grand Frosé
A wine beverage is a pretty obvious choice for “Grand Crew,” so I chose to go with one of my favorites: frosé.
But I did switch it up by adding some frozen dragonfruit. This recipe makes roughly 4 “servings” or glasses of dragonfruit frosé.
Ingredients
1 12-ounce package of frozen, cubed dragonfruit
1 750-milliliter bottle rosé wine
Instructions
Pour the dragonfruit and wine into your blender.
Pulse until the dragonfruit is pureed and thoroughly mixed with the wine.
If you decide to use fresh dragonfruit, cut it into chunks and freeze it before you make the frosé.
You can also make a mocktail version of this with a nonalcoholic frosé or a complementary sparkling water or sparkling juice.
Serve and enjoy with a few episodes of “Grand Crew!”
The Easy Route
This one is pretty dang easy already (especially with the frozen dragonfruit), but you might be able to find an establishment that will let you buy frosé to go. It might be harder to specifically find a dragonfruit frosé.
The Pairing
I started watching “Grand Crew” for Nicole Byer (this is my second post featuring a show of hers this year), but I’ve continued to watch for the entire ensemble.
The titular crew is a group of friends in Los Angeles who like to convene over a nice glass (or bottle) of wine: Noah (Echo Kellum), Wyatt (Justin Cunningham), Sherm (Carl Tart), Anthony (Aaron Jennings), Nicky (Byer) and Fay (Grasie Mercedes).
Much like “Friends,” “Insecure” and many other modern sitcoms, “Grand Crew” follows the ups and downs they all face in their personal and professional lives, with a heavy focus on their romantic relationships.
I am only part way through the second season, and it looks like a third season hasn’t formally been decided yet. I sincerely hope this underrated gem of a show comes back.
