“Inheritance” (2024)
Why are there so many movies and shows called “Inheritance” that have been released in the last couple years? Just to be clear about which movie I’m talking about, this is the Neil Burger-directed family spy thriller starring Phoebe Dynevor and Rhys Ifans.

This “Inheritance” has all the hallmarks of an early-year release. It isn’t that good, but it’s presented as alternative programming to the remaining Oscar contenders playing in theaters and the B horror movies that dominate this time of year.
I imagine folks are also hoping to rely on the star power of Dynevor and her “Bridgerton” popularity. She pretty much plays her same character, an underestimated daughter with a surprising edge, in both the show and this movie, despite them being different genres.
Some of the twists and turns in this thriller are interesting, but you can almost always see them coming a mile away.
Overall, the film falls a little flat, which is never something you want in a thriller.
