About Veg Out

Welcome to Veg Out, where the TV is always on and you can count on finding something yummy in the kitchen.

This is a dinner and a movie blog, but expanded beyond dinner to breakfast, lunch, snacks, desserts and drinks. Plus, it’s inclusive of both movies and TV shows.

As far as the recipes and food go, you can expect a cross between “Top Chef” and “Nailed It” but all vegetarian, mostly vegan. Sometimes, the recipes will be gluten-free, low FODMAP, lactose-free, dairy-free and/or soy-free as well.

I am not a trained chef (more about me, Cat, here). I make some damn good food, but don’t expect salads with a million ingredients or impeccable plating.

This is Veg Out, where the biggest emphasis is on tasty, comforting food you can eat while watching a new movie or binge-watching your favorite show.

On that note, each post will come with a movie or TV show recommendation, a “pairing” if you will.

Some days, the post may be as simple as “Heat up a bowl of oatmeal in the microwave and turn on the ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’.”

Other days, it may look like a vegan pot pie recipe (including a homemade gluten-free crust) that pairs perfectly with “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.”
