“Dog Man” (2025)
I went into “Dog Man” knowing I was not the target demographic since I’m not a young kid nor the parent of one.

While I found some things to enjoy and had a few giggles during the film, “Dog Man” is firmly a kids’ movie that I can only recommend to young fans of the book series it is based on.
For me, the most entertaining parts of the screening were the “Bad Guys” short before “Dog Man” and someone dressed as the titular mascot struggling to get in and out of the theater. My husband went with me and even got up in the middle of “Dog Man” because he needed a break, telling me later that he thought this movie would be better as a series, which I have to agree with.
This animated movie follows the titular character as he’s created: a cop and his dog have a terrible accident that results in some mad scientist-inspired doctors sewing the dog’s head onto the man’s body. We then witness how they/he adapts to this new life amidst his ongoing encounters with the city’s biggest villain, Petey the Cat (voiced by Pete Davidson).
I’m sure “Dog Man” will soon be over-watched by kids and the parents who are forced to watch with them, just another reason I’m glad I don’t have children.
