“Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” (2025)

My husband said it best when we were driving home: “I feel like ‘Now You See Me’ is going to be the new ‘Fast and Furious,’ but with a decade between movies.”

Both are plot hole-filled stunty franchises that center around the idea of chosen family. The chosen family idea definitely becomes more central in “Now You See Me, Now You Don’t,” the third entry in this franchise.

Honestly, it is my favorite of the three so far, thanks in large part to the addition of a younger generation of magicians: Charlie (Justice Smith), June (Ariana Greenblatt) and Bosco (Dominic Sessa).

Things get cooking when those three find themselves having the full attention of one of the legendary Horsemen magicians from the first two movies, Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg).

Soon, his original trio of pals, Merritt (Woody Harrelson), Henley (Isla Fisher) and Jack (Dave Franco), show up to assist with their scheme to steal a giant diamond from this movie’s villain, Veronika Vanderberg (Rosamund Pike).

Lots of hijinks, elaborate stunts and cheesy music follow.

I had more fun with the third installment than the previous entries, and I really enjoyed the new characters more than the returning ones.

Smith and Greenblatt are two of my favorite actors, and if this franchise continues (which looks likely), I hope they stick around.

After all, my favorite “Fast and Furious” movie is the sixth one. Here’s hoping this series is on a faster uptick!
