“Oh, Hi!” (2025)

Men will literally tolerate being chained up for a couple days before they can say they’re sorry.

“Oh, Hi!” promises an unhinged premise, a romantic getaway goes south when the guy (Isaac, played by Logan Lerman) says he doesn’t want to be in a committed relationship, prompting the girl (Iris, played by Molly Gordon) to refuse to take the handcuffs off Isaac after they enjoy some kinky sex.

I was hoping this one would go a little more unhinged, especially with Geraldine Viswanathan and John Reynolds in supporting roles as Iris’s best friend, Max, and Max’s boyfriend, Kenny (respectively), who get roped into Iris’s shenanigans.

Instead of fully veering into horror territory (a la “Misery”) or becoming some grander statement about modern relationships, “Oh, Hi!” left me with a pretty “meh” feeling.

It was very disappointing, considering I’ve loved a lot of the work these four actors have done in movies and shows over the the last decade or so.

If you’re looking for a fully unhinged Iris in a 2025 horror movie about relationships, see “Companion” instead.
