“The Drama” (2026)

“The Drama” is sure to produce as many hot takes from people who see it as the ones that occur in the story of the movie.

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson star as Emma and Charlie, an engaged couple days away from their wedding. Things take a turn when they’re doing a final menu tasting alongside their closest friends, Mike (Mamoudou Athie) and Rachel (Alana Haim in her villain era).

They decide to go around the table and share the darkest things they’ve ever done. And what do you know? Things get dark. Very dark.

Zendaya is fantastic, she delivers all the right notes needed for this nuanced performance. There are parts that call for Pattinson to go full zany like last year’s “Mickey 17.” He goes for it here, and I think he honestly went a little too hard at points.

My only other criticism is that I would’ve liked to see this story more from Emma’s point of view. “The Drama” takes place mostly from Charlie’s point of view, even some scenes that flash back to Emma’s childhood.

Content warning: This movie does discuss themes of brutal violence in an at times humorous manner. I don’t want to get more specific that that to avoid spoilers.
